Funniest Sports Book?

In going through some of my boxes of randomness this week, I re-discovered a 1969 Minnesota North Stars Coloring Book from my childhood. It was actually my sister’s , and she gave it to me years ago. It is absolutely one of the funniest things I have seen and I forgot how much it makes me laugh. Obviously from a long-gone era, there is no way this book would pass today’s standards for being handed out to children, nor would the NHL likely approve it’s very tongue-in-cheek take on the game of hockey (lots of fighting, references to “stupid” and “dumb” refs and coaches, players checking out ladies after the game {He’s our best ‘body checker’}, etc.).

I can only imagine the confusion on a child’s face as he or she tries to color according to the instructions, such as:

“This is our hero – He can do no wrong – Why does he get penalties? – Color him persecuted.” and “This is our general manager – color him confused.”

I’ll attach pics of some of my favorites, including the time clock with the confusing instructions to color the popcorn white! All in all, this is hands-down my winner as the funniest sports book (coloring or otherwise) I’ve ever seen. If anyone has seen these made for other teams during this era, let me know. I’d love to find more!
