It’s a new month and we’ve got plenty more on tap for Free Stuff Friday as we enter a our fifth week of day-long contests with the mission to get free stuff into collectors’ hands.
We’ll kick it all off with an Early Bird Contest starting later tonight, which will run until we start giving stuff away at 10 a.m. Central time right here on The Beckett Blog (click that link for the latest contests in the morning).
All you have to do is be here and be ready to answer questions…
What will we have on tap? See it all after the jump.
– For the Brett Favre fans, a copy of his rare 2009 Donruss Threads card (his Minnesota Vikings debut).
– For the wrestling fans, a 1998 Topps WCW card and sticker set.
– For the New York Yankees fans, a lot of stars’ cards from the World Series. (A Mariano Rivera quad jersey, a CC Sabathia dual and another rare Sabathia card.)
– For the Philadelphia Phillies (and Evan Longoria) fans, we’ll have a Longo-Mike Schmidt dual jersey card.
– For the hockey fans, we’ll have McFarlane SportsPicks of Mats Sundin, Jarome Iginla and Jason Spezza.
– For the high-end basketball fans we’ll have an Eric Gordon Exquisite patch autograph card and an even more impressive Chris Paul Exquisite patch card.
– And for the fans of wax packs? We’ll have some 2009 SP Authentic Baseball.
And, who knows? We might have more stuff pop up as we go along.
Again, all you have to do is be here tomorrow and be ready.

I have a suggestion to improve Free Stuff Friday. I am impartial to the “25 person”, “50 person” wins thing. However, I think that after 2 hours, if a collectible is still waiting for the ___ person with a right answer, you randomize the people with correct choices and move to the next item. I really do enjoy the premise. Or, perhaps, do what you did last week, and say when the next contest starts. Thanks!
Comment by Ken R. November 5, 2009 @ 9:28 pmWe’ll be mixing it up more this week with some contests that will run shorter and longer than others. And some will be posted at precise (pre-announced) times, while others will just pop up unannounced.
However, there weren’t immensely long waits last week with the exception of one or two of them.
While the longer contests may not please the people who camp out for the day, they also are beneficial to those who maybe missed out on earlier sessions.
We’ll mix it up… as long as you guys keep on coming back.
Comment by chrisolds November 5, 2009 @ 9:43 pmChris I received my prizes from 2 weeks ago. Thank you very much. Sweet Chris Olds card I got hand #’ed 3/50. Whats the Beckett value on that? Just kidding. Cool card I’m jealous.

p.s. keep up the sweet prizes & contests
Hey Chris, thanks for all the free contest and endless possibilities for free stuff,I am one of those who can’t camp out all day with two kids and all there is just no time.Maybe the contest should be open all day (24 hours) and choose a random winner for each prize and announce it the following day.
From mod: We did one of those last week. The last ones also typically have a longer window. We also have Early Bird contests that run overnight and up until the launch in the morning.
