Topps‘ UFC product development team earlier this week released several preview images from the company’s 2010 UFC Uncaged product, due out in late February.
Among them is the first certified autographed card of UFC superstar Tito Ortiz.
Each 24-pack hobby box will contain three Relics and two autograph cards per box, which means Topps’ third licensed UFC release will deliver more hits per box than either of the previous two products. (Each case will contain 10 boxes and each pack has six base cards, one insert and one parallel.)
Company officials also announced that Uncaged will incorporate actual hardware from the Octagon, including pieces of the cage. All Relics will have parallels — Golds (1/1), Silvers (numbered to 8) and Bronze (numbered to 88), while there also will be Chrome Triple Threat Relics, which include a piece of mat, gear and cage pieces.
Oh, and also among the highlights? A Chrome Dual Autograph Relic card of Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir — just one of the five cards on that set’s checklist.
The base set will consist of 140 UFC fighter cards, plus 10 WEC competitors with parallel cards falling one per pack. That lineup includes 1/1 Diamond parallels, as well as Ruby (/8), Onyx (/88) and Gold.
Insert cards will fall one per pack and include another assortment of fight poster cards, UFC Propaganda cards (presumably similar to the baseball insert), The Ultimate Fighter cards and 2009 highlight cards. All of these also have parallels — Diamond, Ruby and Onyx.
The autograph set includes 50 base card variation autographs — available in Gold (1/1), Silver (/8), and Bronze (/50). Also back are hobby-only red-ink autos, which are limited to 15 copies apiece.
New among the autograph offerings are 35 base card variations that include both a Relic and signature, the Chrome Dual Auto Relics and 10 Chrome Autograph Jumbo Relics, which are signed directly on the memorabilia piece.
