The 13th annual NFL PLAYERS Rookie Premiere photo shoot begins Thursday in Los Angeles with a select crop of NFL rookies in attendance to pose for photographs in their new uniforms for football cards and sign more than a few autographs that will end up in collectors’ hands.

Panini America, Topps and Upper Deck will be there for the photographs, the autographs and for coverage. Panini is promising live updates from the event regarding Playoff Prestige short prints as well as player interviews, pictures and live interviews from the event. All of this and more can be found on the Panini/Donruss fan page on Facebook.

“This is a one-of-a-kind event that brings together some of the top rookies in the 2009 class for the first time,” said NFL PLAYERS Chief Operating Officer Andrew Feffer. “It is a unique opportunity to showcase these players to our partners as interesting and compelling personalities, features that are at the core of the NFL PLAYERS brand.”

Upper Deck recently collected inscription ideas from Beckett Media readers which will be approved by the NFL and signed by some of the players for inclusion in packs. Panini America has some surprises in store for Beckett readers as well — some which will be announced right here later this week. (Want a hint? The Matt Stafford card above is one.)
