It’s a busy time here at Beckett Media as we continue to prepare all of the sports card magazines and books you’ve come to expect — as well as a more than a few extra magazines here and there, too — but we’re not done there.
Beckett’s Tracy Hackler and Chris Olds have signed on to provide occasional sports card and memorabilia items to ESPN.com’s Page 2. So in case you haven’t bounced around online to see what’s going on in the hobby enough, now there’s another possible destination.
Why? It’s a chance to get the hobby some added widespread exposure, perhaps drawing back some of those collectors who’ve left cards behind and forgotten the likes of Topps, Upper Deck, Panini, Press Pass and others.
Here’s a quick rundown of what we’ve done for Page 2 so far …

Comment by President Obama March 31, 2010 @ 9:54 amreceived 2009 sp legendary cut auto after waiting 18 months. It was supposedly of AL Murray the comedian and has been authenticated by a 3rd party. Problem is, all upperdeck reps I talked to tell me the cut autos are of deceased persons! But AL Murray the comedian I googled is alive and still doing shows all over Europe and Canada! When I Bing this name, I come up with AL Murray the hockey player who played for a New York hockey team in the 1920s and 1930s and is deceased! So, if the cut auto on my card is that of AL Murray the hockey player and not of AL Murray the comedian, is that fraud ? And if it is AL Murray the comedian, did I just get Royally Screwed by upperdeck after waiting so long to receive this card? Upperdeck reps had told me for over a year that it was taking so long because they wanted to do it right! I don’t think they got it right in this instance!
