Topps plans wrapper redemption program for Chrome (updated) by Chris Olds

Update: On Oct. 22, Topps announced that it will be adding autographs of Buster Posey and  Jason Heyward to the program. There will be 100 signed versions of each card with Refractors numbered to 90 and Green Refractors numbered to 10 also to be found in the packs.

Topps Chrome hasn’t yet arrived but there’s already an extra reason to pick up a hobby box — a wrapper redemption focusing on the best rookies of 2010 and the best players in baseball history.

The company announced on Thursday morning a program that will put an exclusive pack of three Chrome Rookies & Legends variation cards into the hands of any collector who sends in 24 2010 Topps Chrome hobby wrappers.

The cards are part of a 15-card set promotion that will run through Feb. 28. Every 1oth pack of the cards will include Refractors.

See the complete checklist and get the address after the jump.
The 15-card set includes:

Jason Heyward
Austin Jackson
Stephen Strasburg
Mike Leake
Buster Posey
Starlin Castro
Ike Davis
Carlos Santana
Mike Stanton
Tyler Colvin

Babe Ruth
Lou Gehrig
Jackie Robinson
Ty Cobb
Mickey Mantle

Wrappers should be sent to:

PO BOX 2230
Duryea, PA  18642

Spell check down? :) I’m getting kind of tired of the same 5 “legends” over and over. I feel like Topps should use their enormous platform to further the causes of less well known HOFers, etc.

Only 24 packs per mailing? Can more than 24 packs be sent at one time?

I purchased 4 boxes of 2010 Topps Chrome on 01/16/2011. While opening the packs from one of the boxes, I had 6 packs that only had 3 cards in each one. I should have gotten 96 cards in all from that box, but instead, I only got 90 cards. I still have the box and the wrappers that came in that box. What do I need to do? I would like to send the wrappers in to get my green wrapper cards, but I would like my six cards that I did not receive. I spend too much money on baseball cards as it is and I would like to get what I pay for. I have had this happen before, but only one pack in a box and usually, another pack in the box will have 5 cards. Tell me what I need to do.
