Tracy Hackler first arrived at Beckett Media in 1995 before heading to Donruss a few years ago and coming back to Beckett in 2004. Now, he’s headed to Panini America.

Another long-time Beckett Media employee, Dave Sliepka, caught up with Hackler on Friday for a quick two-part interview.

A truly sad day for Beckett and its legion of fans. Tracy was the leader with lots of respect and knowledge in the card collecting world and his box breaks were a work of art. He will be greatly missed and Panini is blessed to have such talent joining its company. He will certainly help them in becoming the best out there. Its been a pleasure and a honor to have witness the growth of this man and I wish him all the best. Good luck and stop by now and then and keep in touch.

If I was an employee in the marketing dept. of Panini, the first thing I would do is start a monthly magazine featuring upcoming product previews and interviews with panini brass, athletes, collectors and articles about the overall card market. kinda like a beckett mag but all about panini. with Hackler’s background, he could make that happen. i would be interested in that

A class act. Though we might have differed on opinions, I always respected the fact you never took it personally. Best of luck and don’t be a stranger. All the best.
