The $10 Card Shop Challenge: You Decide by Chris Olds

By Chris Olds | Editor

Little over a week ago, I issued the first $10 Card Shop Challenge. Now, it’s your turn to vote for the winner.

You might have seen the results here and here — if not, go visit those threads and then cast your vote. We’ll close the voting at 10 a.m. Central time on Monday, Nov. 29.

(Those who purchased packs NOT at retail outlets are not eligible … you have to read the rules. We let image posting slide as some had technical difficulties, though. We’ll let the voters decide if there are any tall tales here … )

What will the winner get? Something that costs more than $10 …

I seem to have lost 30 votes. I checked before 10am central time and I had 117 votes. What happened?

from mod: if anything happened it’s polldaddy’s fault. It’s their software.

Wow… really, I guess this poll was more about who had more facebook friends…

Moderator: so you’re saying that even though I actually had more votes when polling closed, I lose because Polldaddy has broken software?

From mod: Here’s the answer — polldaddy’s results stand because they are the ones who are counting. It automatically stopped taking votes at the posted close time. That was 10 a.m. Central time.

The winner is John Rivera, who had 94 votes. We’ll be in touch.

I’m just honestly disappointed. I’ve never won anything, and yesterday morning when I saw I had broken 100 votes before 10 central, I got pretty excited. I was refreshing every 10 minutes or so, crossing my fingers. I know there’s probably no evidence to back me up on it, just my word; I’m just bummed today. In any event, I still think it’s cool that you guys do contests like this and give back to the collectors. I just thought I’d be on the receiving end this time.
Take care.
