The Beckett Blog

Congrats to Pittsburgh …

towel

1. Holmes, that erases the “Immaculate Reception” forever and ever … amen. That was incredible, and you shouldn’t ever have to pay for a dinner in Pittsburgh again.

Man, that was beautiful.

2. Warner’s arm was going forward on the last play (that counted) .

3.  Great game … Larry Fitzgerald. Goodness, and GOODNESS, you are one h-e- double hockey sticks of a receiver.

Sorry, Cardinal fans … I was with you all the way, even to the point of my wife kicking me in the shins (literally) for waking up our daughter with my screeching. No offense, Steeler faithful … it’s residuals from growing up a fan of the Oilers. :)

Beckett at the Super Bowl (and a contest) — UPDATED (AGAIN)

Booth

Some (lucky) Beckett employees got the opportunity to attend the festivities surrounding the Super Bowl … and do a little work as well. We have rotated a few people in and out and right now we have Editor Chris Olds, Sports Marketing Director Brad Hastedt and one of our Ad Sales team members, Brett Robertson on site. Since I don’t see anyone actually in the Beckett booth, I will just assume it took all three guys to take this picture, because I know they are working hard … right guys?

Riiiiiiiiight … ;)

UPDATE – This just came in and I rest my case …

—–Contest—-

I am not sure if Brad or Brett took this picture (below) of the esteemed Chris Olds, but let us give thanks that they did not choose to follow the professional photographer career path. What is important about this lovely shot is that there is a celebrity in the picture … and while Chris is a celebrity of sorts, I am not talking about him.

Beckett Offices Closed Today
64eb42ee

Yes, that is sarcasm, folks ...

It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that I sit here before you, the adoring public. I am talking to those folks who absolutely hate the weekends because there isn’t much posted on the Beckett blog. I am talking to the masses, the sea of humanity in this inhumane world who live cardboard and breathe foil highlights. Indeed, I am speaking to you, strange-looking man who constantly squints from reading this blog on a monitor from 1989 … and you, guy who has every Mother’s Cookie card ever made … and you (no, no, not you … the person next to you), yes, yes … you, the little guy, the one guy in this world who thinks I actually know what I am talking about …

I am here to inform you all that the Beckett Media Dallas location is closed today due to inclement weather.

A rumor has surfaced from a source inside the Kontinental Hockey League that a North American card manufacturer has approached them about developing a trading card product … as early as this season.

A deal has yet to be announced, so both sides are keeping silent to this point, to the point that the manufacturer is being kept a secret.

With the amount of talent in the KHL, this news should have hockey fans everywhere drooling.

Stay tuned for more details as they come …
