Technical difficulties derailed the Box Busters video for 2010 Bowman Chrome from appearing here on Thursday evening but that didn’t stop Beckett Baseball‘s Chris Olds from ripping his own hobby box he landed at Nick’s Sports Cards in Dallas.

The last time he busted a box from there, he pulled a Stephen Strasburg autograph. This time, the action left him speechless. Or something.

What will he find? Watch and find out … we’ll have the Box Busters video here on Friday morning.

We swear.

By Chris Olds | Editor

Let the dumpster diving (for wrappers) commence.

Topps announced on Monday a wrapper redemption program for buyers of 2010 Bowman Chrome as well as admitted that one set of high-demand buyback autograph cards slated for the product — one thatincludes Bryce Harper — didn’t make pack-out and will be part of the hobby-only redemption program.

For every 18 wrappers (hobby-only) that collectors send in, they will receive a five-card pack of black-bordered 2010 Bowman cards. The set will include all 110 prospects from 2010 Bowman will be included in the redemption as well as a 37-card USA Baseball black-bordered Chrome autograph set where all cards will be limited to just 25 copies. Less than a day after it announced the signing of the No. 1 draft pick, Topps unveiled its plans for Bryce Harper autograph cards in a pair of 2010 Bowman-branded products.

However, neither one will feature the much-anticipated teen’s first officially licensed MLB card, saving him for 2011 Bowman — where he will be featured on both standard and autographed cards.

First look: 2010 Bowman Chrome baseball cards by Chris Olds

Topps released the basic set information and preview images for 2010 Bowman Chrome baseball cards on Wednesday, a set that will include a Chrome autograph of Washington Nationals rookie Stephen Strasburg.

And, yes, it will include an autographed SuperFractor.

It will arrive in mid-October packing one autograph per 18-pack hobby box. (Each pack will include two prospect cards and two veterans.) The autograph checklist will consist of 24 prospects who did not appear in 2010 Bowman.

The standard set inclusions will be 110 Chrome prospect cards — with the typical Refractor, Blue, Gold, Orange, Red and Supers — while there also will be 20 members of the USA Baseball 18U team  with signed cards. Those will be found one in five boxes (roughly two per case) as a bonus autograph, while there also will be 10 dual-signed USA autograph cards as well.

The Topps 100 Prospects set will return in Chrome with Super, Gold, and standard Refractors. Refractor quantities vary from set to set, though Reds are numbered to five, Orange to 25, Gold to 50 in most sets. Odds were not announced, but there will be approximately four USA Baseball cards per box, three Topps 100 cards per box and seven total Refractor cards per box.

The 220-card Chrome set will consist of 180 veterans and 40 rookies all with the rainbow of Refractors. Among the rookies in the set are Strasburg, Ian Desmond, Austin Jackson, Jason Heyward, Drew Storen, Ike Davis, Drew Stubbs, Starlin Castro and Tyler Colvin.
