The NBA season is in full swing and all eyes have been on rookies John Wall and Blake Griffin. These two will likely go to the wire when it comes to the Rookie of the Year vote, but the cardboard world doesn’t just revolve around these two guys when it comes to NBA rookies.

You may have been caught up in the dazzling moves of Wall or the strong-arm play of Griffin, but here are three rookies who also deserve your attention.

Blake Griffin’s long-awaited NBA debut starts off right by Susan Lulgjuraj

More than a year after Blake Griffin was the 2009 top overall draft pick by the Los Angeles Clippers, he finally made his NBA debut.

The Oklahoma graduate, who spent last year shelved after knee surgery, had 20 points and 14 rebounds (nine offensive) in Wednesday night’s 98-88 loss to the Portland Trailblazers.

Griffin’s play gave Clippers fans something to finally cheer about.

The game didn’t start easily for Griffin. He took two fouls early in the first quarter and needed a break. But Griffin, who finished with four fouls, also didn’t play with a man worried about making contact. He was aggressive and visibly disappointed with himself when he missed a shot or made a mistake.

Preview Gallery: 2009-10 Panini Studio basketball cards by Chris Olds

Panini America released a small batch of card images on Wednesday for what’s to be found in its 2009-10 Panini Studio basketball card set when it arrives in late February. (See our previous look at the set right here.)

The Heritage autographs appear to be signed on-card as are the Skylines autographs.
