Sneak Peek: 2011 Upper Deck Football by tolentinotown

By Andrew Tolentino | Assistant Editor

Upper Deck recently released a few (two to be exact), preview images of its 2011 football product. Set to release on April 12, the NFL newcomer-focused manufacturer announced that this set will deliver “the top 2011 rookies before the draft.”

After all, Upper Deck is the only company allowed to use NCAA team logos with its exclusive deal with the Collegiate Licensing Company.

In addition to the forthcoming football freshmen, league veterans and greats will be featured in what appears to be  a 1991 throwback design on some cards (see below). As the images indicate, Adrian Peterson and Dan Marino are amongst the many players pictured in their collegiate uniforms.

The saga will surely unfold over the next few months, but for now this product breakdown will have to do. Continue reading

Panini America released a handful of preview images to tease what’s coming in 2010 Gridiron Gear, which arrives this week with some hidden surprises.

What kinds of surprises?

Well, for starters there are the Rookie Gridiron Gems cards that have an autograph on a jersey swatch that is concealed inside the card. Collectors can pull out its inner panel to see the entire signature.

You’ll see more of the cards after the jump, and you see the rest of the cards from the set online starting with a batch right here and you’ll have the chance to win one of these cards from a top running back in the class in the next issue of Beckett Football. (That’ll be in hobby shops and chain stores around the country by next month … )

Until then, you can see five cards — before and after autograph reveals — after the jump.
