Rajon Rondo steps out of the cardboard shadows by Susan Lulgjuraj

By Susan Lulgjuraj | Contributing Editor | Commentary

Rajon Rondo isn’t the biggest star on his team.

The Boston Celtics point guard lets the attention fall on those around him while he dishes out the ball to get the rest of his team the numbers that make people look.

Rondo is an assist machine. He averages 13.4 assists a game and had a 23-assist game on Jan. 5, but that wasn’t even his best game this season. He had a 24-assist game on Oct.29 against the New York Knicks.

With all those players around him such as Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and even Shaquille O’Neal, is Rondo overshadowed in the collecting world?

Beckett Exquisite Winner Busts His Box by Tracy Hackler

SeaboldExquisiteBust

Mild-mannered Michigan native and IT professional Carl Seabold was beside himself when we notified him that he’d won one of the 2008-09 Exquisite Collection boxes from our widely embraced Box Busters contest.

So you can imagine Seabold’s excitement when his prize box actually arrived last week and he took the opportunity to record his own Box Busters episode for all to see.

Thanks for sharing, Carl. By the way, is that an extremely limited Kobe Bryant/Paul Pierce dual auto you’ve got there?

2007-08 NBA Champions by ejahnke

Congratulations to the Boston Celtics, who defeated destroyed the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday night to claim the 2007-08 NBA Championship.

Kudos to Paul Pierce, who I often call “The Forgotten Man,” for showing the world how great a player he is, and winning the Finals MVP award.

As a slightly eyeball-annoying-but-thankfully-not-permanent tribute, Beckett Behind the Scenes will feature this lovely background for the day…or until I get real tired of it. Being that I hold grudges and remember very, VERY clearly what happened the last time the Celtics won the title, I may get tired of it quickly.

In all seriousness though, hats off to the Celtics, they deserve it.
